McPherson College’s Poetry Month Project
Every April McPherson College’s Poetry Month Project invites and encourages the campus community to write and read poetry in recognition of National Poetry Month. The Poetry Month Project publishes both 1) original poems by members of the McPherson College community and 2) favorite poems that community members love and want to share with others. The goal is to publish here on this Web site one original poem and one favorite poem each weekday in April.
Prizes
Three Readers’ Choice prizes and a Best of the Poetry Month Project prize will be awarded at the end of the month. The three poems receiving the most popular votes will win the Readers’ Choice Awards ($25 Amazon.com gift certificate). Members of the English faculty select the Best of the Poetry Month Project award ($50 Amazon.com gift certificate). A poem may receive both a Readers’ Choice Award and the Best of the Month Project prize.
Everyone’s contributions are welcome—students, staff, and faculty—but only student work is eligible for prizes.
